A happy and joyful time friends . When all of you hear this greeting then you may know that it’s from Myanmar . All my companions those that have travelled together with me on trishaw or motor-bike I would like to wish you in this manner . All my customers are included in it. I would like to say all my old and new friends welcome to * Happy Travels *. My heartfelt thanks to all my benefactors of this company . According this motto “I want other happy just like myself ” so I arranged many fantastic sightseeing pprogrammes for my customers. ABOUT ME

My name is Soe Paing. I was born in 1978 in a small town called
Mokmeik in the northern part of Shan state.

I am married and father of 4 children.

At present I am a tourist guide in Mandalay.

After primary school I worked as an apprentice in the gems market and
helped my parents on their works.

A few years later I started to work as a trishaw rider.

While working as a trishaw rider, I started to study English with a
retired teacher named Uncle Lay. Later on I continued my language courses with a Buddhist monk.
Consequently I was able to start working as a tour guide for foreign visitors.

Due to the political situation in 2007 I had to flee to Thailand. In 2012
I could return to Myanmar.

I have three years of working experience as a tour guide and I enjoy my
work very much. Many of my customers have become good friends.

Please feel free to contact me either for more information or if you want
to hire me as your guide.

I would be very happy to show you my country and to give you many
valuable suggestions of how to get to know Myanmar and its people.
This way you can also help me to provide my children a proper education.

My original name is Soe Paing . My mother named me after offering one pyi of rice and 25 kyats to the palmist . Soe means being famous and Paing means that everything will be plentiful for me . So the whole name is to be famous and a wealthy person but my tourist friends can’t call me by that name so it becomes * SPY * which is not good and being mocked among my friends. Because of that, I chose * So So * for all the foreign tourists. This name is just reasonable not too good not too bad . So Please call me by that name since I like it very much . Thank you so much

PLANS & PROGRAMME

Itinerary

Programme A

Depart from hotel at 8:00 am and visit Mandalay Hill. While other tours do it in the evening, I choose to do it in the morning because early morning the scenery is wonderful and also there are only a few people . Next we shall visit the Kuthodaw and Golden Palace. On our return to the hotel we can have lunch on the way; then you can rest for a while at your hotel . In the evening we start from 3:00 pm, go visit to the gold leaf industry. From there we go to Maha Muni Pagoda and also to the jade market. Shwe Inn Bin Monastery will come next. After our sightseeing we shall have beer at the view point to see the beautiful sunset . That’s one-day program.

Programme B

We start at 9:00 am from the hotel to go shopping at the Zegyo market then visit Moe Hti Aung Si Meditation Center . Later on we proceed to Amarapura to learn about weaving industry. Hence we shall travel to Sagaing . For lunch we can enjoy at a Shan restaurant . We can go to Inwa by boat and ride a pony-cart to visit Bagaya Monastery ,Yatana Si mi pagaya also Nan Myint Tower and Mai Nu Monastery . On our return we can have a wonderful view of the sunset on * U Bein Bridge *. Then take you back to your hotel.

Programme C

After having breakfast we have to travel to the new town to have a look at Jade industry. We can participate in that work; also we can prepare our lunch and have it there . Next we can go back to the hotel to rest . In the afternoon that is 3:00 pm we go to Mingun by boat and at sunset we return. The scenery is fantastic from the boat that I am sure you will like that trip.

Programme D

We shall leave the hotel at 9:00 am and travel to Pyin-Oo -Lwin by a good shared taxi. Upon arrival at that town we will hire a horse -cart and visit the Botanical Garden . On our return we can visit the British cottages along the road . Next we can have lunch at the Shan market . Later on we will go to the Pwe-qauk waterfall which is a good picnic spot. We can go there by motor-bike . After spending about 5 hours there we can hire a shared taxi for our return journey .. The rates for transport 1. shared taxi for one person = kyats 6000 2. One horse cart hire = kyats 10000 3. Motor-bike hire cost = kyats 8000 per bike 4. Return shared taxi = kyats 6000 per ticket

PROGRAMME E

Excursion to Maymyo (PYIN OO LWIN)

Full Day, Sightseeing Tour, Mandalay

Pick-up at your hotel for a scenic drive (80 km – 2h) to the former British hill station of PYIN OO LWIN (Maymyo), a delightful small town of colonial-style buildings, markets, and a botanical garden. Feel the historical atmosphere by traveling through town in a traditional horse-drawn carriage. Visit the local market and the botanical garden. After lunch at simple local restaurant, venture out to visit the PEIK KHYIN MYAUNG CAVES, caves almost as old as the land itself and proceed to PWE KYAUK FALLS, a favorite picnic spot for local people before returning to Mandalay .

Excursion to Amarapura, AVA & Sagaing

Introduction

Pick-up at your hotel for the drive to Amarapura, 15 km (30 minutes) from Mandalay. Visit MAHAGANDAYON, a famous Buddhist monastery, where more than a thousand monks live and study; continue to 200-year-old U BEIN teak bridge, built in 1782 at the time when Amarapura was Royal capital. Visit BAGAYA MONASTERY, with a superb collection of Buddha statues. After lunch at local restaurant, excursion to the former Royal Capital of INWA (AVA) reached by a short boat trip. Visits by horse-drawn carriage include NANMYINT WATCH TOWER, the remains of the palace building nicknamed “the leaning tower of Ava” MAHA AUNGMYE BONZAN MONASTERY, built of brick and stucco and BARGAYAR MONASTERY, famous for its impressive ornate woodcarvings and teak posts. Continue to SAGAING HILLS, a retreat for Buddhist devotees for sunset.

PROGRAMME G

Excursion to AVA (Daily, 08:00-12:00 and 14:00-18:00)Half Day, Sightseeing Tour, Mandalay

Pick-up at your hotel for an excursion to the former Royal Capital of INWA (AVA), 20 km from Mandalay, reached by a 45 minutes drive and a short boat trip. Visits by horse-drawn carriage include NANMYINT WATCH TOWER, the remains of the palace building nicknamed “the leaning tower of Ava”; MAHA AUNGMYE BONZAN MONASTERY, built of brick and stucco and BARGAYAR MONASTERY, famous for its impressive ornate woodcarvings and teak posts. On your way back to Mandalay stop in Amarapura to see the 200-year-old U BEIN teak bridge, built in 1782 at the time when Amarapura was royal capital.

Full day excursion by boat on Inle Lake will include sights of the famous leg rowers, typical floating gardens, local methods of fishing, village life and magnificent scenery. Visits are made to PHAUNGDAW OO PAGODA; the weaving village of INPAWKHON and to one of the local markets in the Inle Lake region (on market days only). In the afternoon, depending on the water level, board a boat to the Western Shore of Inle Lake, where you will find the beginning of a stair path leading to the hidden and unknown INN THEIN PAGODA complex. Visit one of the most amazing historical sights on the shore of the lake consisting of hundreds of small stupas overgrown by moss and greens. Return to your hotel by boat through lush vegetation scenery. Lunch is included.

Introduction

Full Day, Sightseeing Tour, Inle Lake Depart from hotel to Taunggyi (30 km – 1 hour) and continue for about another hour, depending on road and weather conditions to KAKKU. Visit the KAKKU Pagoda complex of over 2000 stupas which has been opened for foreign visitors. Lunch at local restaurant. Leave KAKKU for a visit to HTAN-PHA-YA village and cave. Unknown Shan Buddha images of various sizes are kept on the wall of the small shallow HTAN-PHA-YA cave. Visit a typical Pao village including their plantations on the way back to Taunggyi. Return to hotel. Lunch is included.

Full Day, Sightseeing Tour, Bagan Pick-up at your hotel for an excursion to MOUNT POPA (45 km – 1.5 h), an extinct volcano with spectacular views and the birth place of the Myanmar ‘nats’ or spirits. Its shrine is dedicated to animist spirits known as ‘nats’ and you will have time to climb the 777 steps to the shrine at the top of the peak. Return to Bagan and stop at a typical local village as well as a toddy palm plantation.

Complete your Yangon impressions with an extended visit to one of the world’s most spectacular monuments, the SHWEDAGON PAGODA.

Excursion Bago (PEGU) (Daily, 08:00-17:00) , Sightseeing Tour, Yangon

Introduction

Pick-up at your hotel for the drive to BAGO (84 km – 1.5 hr). Sightseeing starts with the charming and characteristic monastery of Kya Khet Waii, an eminent teaching center for hundreds of monks from neighboring regions to study Buddhism. You will have ample time to observe when the monks walk mindfully in procession for their last meal of the day. The tour continues to the over a thousand years old SHWEMAWDAW PAGODA with its spire taller than the SHWEDAGON PAGODA. After lunch at a simple local restaurant, you will continue sightseeing with the 55-meter long reclining SHWE THA LYAUNG Buddha, which is among one of the country’s most impressive image and the four giant Buddha images at KYAIK PUN PAGODA. After visiting a ‘Mon’ weaving and handicraft village producing woven bamboo wares return to Yangon with visits to an Allied War Graves cemetery near HTAUK KYAN and a “Nat” tree shrine on the way back. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel. Lunch is included.
